Welcome, and thank you for visiting The Mindful Exploration Space. My name is Margot Clayton and I am an experienced qualified health professional providing both short-term counselling, longterm psychotherapy and bespoke interventions for adults

The Mindful Exploration Space invites you to co-create a relationship with me where we can explore what is getting in the way of you experiencing a fulfilling life and living life with more ease.

Life brings many challenges, and it is understandable that at times we might look for support in facing them.

As a Mindfulness-based Core Process Psychotherapist I will listen deeply to what you bring to explore. I offer short term counselling and longer term depth psychotherapy. Some problems and life situations are deeply embedded in who we are and how we live, and they do take time to heal. Longer term therapy offers the commitment of a safe, caring and supportive relationship that enquires into life and really affects change at depth. Whatever your concerns I will meet you with care and compassion. I been a qualified health professional since 1984 therefore can draw on extensive experience of helping people on their path to health and well-being.

People come to me for help a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that I can support you with:

Qualifications, experience & interests

I have an MA in Mindfulness-Based Core Process Psychotherapy and an MSc & BSc in Occupational Therapy as my main academic qualifications.

I have worked as a fully-qualified health professional for over 35 years in various specialities within NHS, Social Work Department, Third Sector and Private Sector. I am a UKCP registered Core Process Psychotherapist and an accredited member of the ACPP, which is an organisational member of the HICP College of UKCP I am registered as an Occupational Therapist on the HCPC Register and a member of RCOT

I have a diverse range of experiences and approaches with a desire to deepen my understanding of what is involved in being human. Core Process Psychotherapy is an integrative and embodied approach therefore allows me to work at depth with people and integrate various supplementary techniques I have learned. An important part of my work is my own spiritual growth and reflective practice and I view my practice as being and important part of this.

My location

I offer face-to-face psychotherapy and counselling at The Wellbeing Rooms, Bearsden. I also offer online sessions via Zoom for clients who are further afield. The Wellbeing Rooms offer a comfortable, confidential and safe therapeutic space located near cafes, public transport and car parks.

Fees & availability

My fee is £60 for regular weekly therapy for 50 minutes. I do not charge for the initial meeting as it is an opportunity for us to find out if we feel we could work together. We would generally meet for 6 weeks then review whether you wish to continue with therapy and if I feel I am able to help you.

Please note that if you want to cancel an appointment I require 48 hours’ notice; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed. I accept payment in cash, by cheque or by bank transfer.

I provide a limited number of spaces for those on low-income, please contact me to enquire about availability.

My usual work pattern is office hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I aim to respond to all enquires within 24 hours during my working week.

I encourage you to avoid disclosing your sensitive personal data in and email or SMS as it may be breached in transmission.

I am happy to discuss any queries or questions. If you are interested in working we me the next stage is to arrange an initial meeting. At this meeting which is complimentary we can discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to psychotherapy, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to work with.
